Portal II.....Coming in 2010

The next issue of Game Informer magazine will give more insight into the Half Life Universe with the now 100% confirmed sequel to the smash hit, Portal. Portal II is set to release in 2010.

According to Valve, the first Portal was more of a 'test' than an actual game. Portal II will be a full fledged gaming experience.

Valve has even gone an extra step by releasing an update to the original ending of the first Portal game. It must be watched so I have included it below (especially since the update is reportedly not being released on either the Xbox 360 or PS3).

The events depicted in the Portal series happen to coincide with the events in the Half Life series, who's adventures center on a one Gordon Freeman. Rumblings over the years have some believing that these two will series will meet and become one to overthrow the Combine empire who are the main antagonists in Half Life series.

Enjoy!

Google's "Nexus One" coming to Verizon on March 23

Verizon will release Google's Nexus One Android device on March 23 according to sources.

The Nexus One, has passed FCC inspection for use on Verizon's CDMA network and according to a Google worker who wishes to remain anonymous it will be made available on March 23, which is coincidentally the day the International CTIA wireless show begins in the US. It's not yet clear whether Verizon plans to hold a press conference regarding the launch. The source was not able to disclose Pricing and tariffs, but he did say they would be "competitive." Here is to hoping that the "HTC Incredible" releases the same day!!!

Future of the Modern Warfare series in jeopardy

News was a buzzing in the gaming world last night with reports that two of the masterminds behind the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise were ousted from their Infinity Ward HQ offices yesterday by Activision security.

Supposedly both Vince Zampella and Jason West (now both former heads at Infinity Ward) were fired due to insubordination and breach of contract.

It's been publicly known that both developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision have had several serious clashes in the past. Most of the problems were centered around the difference of opinions with the entire Modern Warfare saga.

Activision has always firmly believed that setting the series in modern times was 'too risky' and at one point and time they had even gone as far as doing a full market research survey to try and plead their case.

All we do know is that Infinity Ward will be continuing development of two downloadable map packs for release sometime in 2010 for Modern Warfare 2. But after that their future in the Call of Duty series remains uncertain.

Currently developer Treyarch is scheduled for the next Call of Duty release and a new studio called Sledgehammer Games is working on a Call of Duty project in the 'action-adventure' genre set to release in 2011.

Will we see Captain Price again? Does Soap MacTavish make it? What will become of Zakhaev? If Infinity Ward is out of the COD series we will never know. Only time will tell.

Since it's release on Nov 10th 2009, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has generated worldwide sales that have surpassed well over $1 Billion. It has shattered both gaming records and even theatrical box office records.

PS3 Acknowledging defeat intiates global self distruct sequence on all PS3's!

Sony’s Playstation Network (PSN) went into meltdown this weekend, logging users out of the service and preventing them from playing online games. That alone would be inconvenient, but users, including our own Brian X Chen, are reporting that previously downloaded games - including Heavy Rain - cannot be played offline, that trophies won in games have disappeared from the console. Sony is aware of the problem, posting updates on both its PS3 blog and Twitter stream. Oddly, the issue is confined to the original big PS3s: The PS3 Slim remains unaffected by the problem. Although Sony says it will have a fix by this morning, it has not yet said what went wrong. Anecdotal evidence points to a combination of DRM and firmware issues rather than a network outage. Affected units have their system date set to Dec 31, 1999 (something impossible to do manually, according to PS3 News) or January 1st 2000 and the consoles are only able to play non-protected games.
This, combined with errors like the following:

8001050F - Hardware failure. Cannot update Firmware or connect to Internet

make us think that a firmware bug screwed up the date and/or connectivity, and the games’ DRM is thrown into a panic as a result. If this is true, it’s embarrassing for Sony.

(Exclusive) Take a look at Verizon's New Phone "The Incredible"

HTC Incredible Could Launch from Verizon in the Next Few Weeks

Evidence is mounting that Verizon will introduce a high-end Android OS smartphone in the near future. The HTC Incredible has not yet been announced, but it will supposedly be almost identical to the Google Nexus One, and sport a large high-resolution Touchscreen and a 1 GHz processor.

Verizon's product database has a new listing: "HTC Inc ADR6300". Most people are convinced that this is a reference to the HTC Incredible, especially given the other evidence.

In addition, a poorly filmed video demonstrating some of the features of this smartphone has leaked out. This shows it displaying the Verizon logo during boot up. It also helps confirm that this Android-based model will include HTC Sense, this company's alternate user interface that enhances Google's standard UI.

A Preliminary Overview of the HTC Incredible
According to information that has leaked out, the HTC Incredible will launch running Android OS 2.1 on a 1 GHz processor, a high-end combination.

It is almost certainly a version of the HTC Bravo -- other versions of this device include the Google Nexus One and the HTC Legend.

This smartphone reportedly will use a tablet shape with a 3.7-inch WVGA (800 by 480 pixel) AM-OLED touchscreen. Below this will be an optical touchpad.

The Incredible is expected to support Verizon's 3G mobile broadband network, and include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

Other features will include a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flashes and a microSD card slot.

A Launch in mid March at CTIA Is Possible!!!
